The dual mounting is why I went with the Crosswind too and it's a feature Edelbrock should have added to the Air-Gap when it came out. Instead they chose to make two differnent versions and charge approx. $75 more for the magnum version for the simple reason they could get away with it.

I was concerned that the 10.6:1 compression with magnum heads would be too much and I wanted the option to swap on the open chamber heads I have on the shelf without needing to buy another intake.

I have also heard that the ports are slightly smaller but that could be a good thing depending on what your goals are. If only one design was best there wouldn't be low rise dual planes, high rise dual planes, low & high rise single planes, cross rams, dual inline quads, etc.

No i think that his opinion sucks,,my opinion is harsh? this is his---quote"hey thinking of it that piece of chinese enginering may make more power than the piece of s*** american made and designed holley stripdominator intake manifold i have that cant distribute fuel even close to right..... or the american printed catalogs wish lists dodge challanger as a carmodel already in 63 or the oxygensensor fittings that says made in USA on the cardboard and the outside of the plastick is stamped asembled in mexico do i have to keep on flaming stupid american stuff also? hey i have seen lots of more stuff so stupid you probably cant even understand it thats made in usa if you whant to hear about it?

This type of response to someone on the board simply stating their opinion is totally uncalled for. The fact of the matter is is that most if not all items you purchase for your car, home, etc are made in foreign countries. This is not something I support, however, it is also something I nor anyone else can do anything about. This type of farming out production to foreign countries has been going on for the better part of 30 years, and is a direct result of capitolism and free enterprise. (Which by the way, our men overseas are fighting to preserve) Trust me, if production costs in the USA were as low as in foreign countries then' things would be made in the USA.
Here is another fact. American cars and products no longer set the standards for excellence, and haven't since the glory days of Cadillac and the Chrysler Imperial. Whose fault is that?
We are very quick to tell everyone in the world how bitchin we are, but the sad truth is we don't back it up with anything but words.
General Motors taught toyota everything it knows about vehicle production and assembly, and what does Toyota do? They improve on our concept and kick our asses with our own ideas. That's our fault.
General Motors used to be the Biggest company in the world...no longer...Toyota has GM beat...Sad to say...but true.
And as far a quality goes, I am a diehard mopar fan and try to buy American whenever possible. But the sad truth is, I have owned both American cars and Japanese cars and the quality of American cars is not on par with Japanese or German. Next time you are looking to buy a Dodge Truck, look at the Vin, you might be surprised to find that it was built in Mexico.
That's our fault...Sad...But...True

So you you have your opinion and Duster340 has his. Duster340 vents his frustrations about his experience on his American made Holley and you lash out at his country. I don't see any derogatory comments directed towards you.

So explain to me why my American made Mancini Racing subframe connectors are the wrong size and do not fit the framerails. I don't think the quality issues are limited to China. Mancini Racing gets good reviews here but I feel I got screwed by them (sales/ship error AND quality issue).

As far as China being a dictatorship, (Waynebo, this comment has nothing to do with you) it's not. They do have human rights issues, but it's nothing compared to what it was 20+ years ago at the peak of communism.

So if you refuse to buy Chinese products based on these offenses, fine. Does that mean you would buy products made in Taiwan? 2 separate countries. If not, don't blame it on human rights violations or communism, Taiwan has neither.

BTW - your beloved Edelbrock manufactures their valve covers in China...just to save you the trouble from finding out after you order them.

As for me, I still prefer parts made in the U.S. Heck, I prefer Mopars over imports, even though I own both. ALL my intakes are Edelbrocks. I use Holley and Edelbrock carbs. Would I buy a Crosswinds? Maybe. So it was cast in China. So what. I hardly think the foundries they use to cast are similar to ones used in the U.S. Why? We probably sold it to them. Would I buy Chinese products with moving parts? NO! AND I'm Chinese...so what.
 
I didn't want to reply to this post but it just hits too close to home. I'm losing my job to cheaper labor and it stinks. I bought Manley rods for more then 600 bucks thinking I'm buying an American product but I was wrong they are forged in another country. I was upset but what can I do. The rest of my motor is built with parts made here but I could be mistaken on that too. Buy what makes you feel happy. I chose American made parts because I like to do my part to help a fellow American out. There maybe a better product from another country but I'll still buy American because that's what I was born and proud of it. As for the crosswind I really haven't heard much about them yet so no info there...sorry.
 
ok atleast some of you got my point......
i also prefer buying american made stuff unfortionaly there is the same quality problems nomather where the parts are made and most of the american made parts that can match the prices of the chinese stuff are probaly just reboxed in america anyway.....
sorry to say it but if you want to keep those jobs in america you will probably have to buy everyting made in america and not just the pride and joy carparts:(
its realy a sad thing and we have partialy the same problems here with jobbs disapering to other cheaper countrys :(

havent heard anything realy bad about the crosswind manifold so far except for the chinese coments...

wont post anyting more in this thread now dont want totaly mess it upp
