So I have a new 904 trans manual valve body and I hooked up my shifter to it and all went through the gears on the shifter then went and started the car on jackstands and went to put it in gear to see if the wheels would spin and nothing so I got back underneath it and it seems like the lever off the trans is stuck in park I think. Even with the shifter cable unhooked I can't seem to get this to shift through the gears with the lever that come off the trans with my hand like I could this morning before I hooked up the shifter. Hope this makes sense. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Justin, try backing out the neutral switch and see if it allows the shift lever to move. If the Neutral safety switch failed it can lock the shift lever. If that doesn't do it you'll have to drop the pan to see what broke or came apart. Tracy

Need more info.
Car?
New/rebuilt transmission or just new manual valve body?
Did you install the valve body or someone else?
Could be as easy as fishy has said with the nss or you’ll need drop the pan and take a look.

is the trans new with manual valve body?

if it is a new trans from CRT....i would be calling him before i did anything to the trans..

or did you install the manual valve body?

parking paw probably jammed .....

So i ran out and pulled the nss out and its still locked up unfortunately. Its a new trans and valvebody. I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what he says. I wonder how that happened..
