Dads Hemi Roadrunner finally making it to the track. I know not an A-body but it’s still exciting.

Thanks Bill, he took his time back in the day and had it done very very nice. He cares more about his car being prestine than I do haha. After I had the Demon re-done and painted. It didn’t even make it to the track yet and already had a scratch. Then more scratches happened over time and eventually, I just gave up on trying to keep it mint. It’s damn impossible with a race car that is always being used.
I’m just like you except a little more extreme. That’s why Fred is so ratty. lol

What an awesome car!
It's living the life that it was born to do.
It's great to see real Hemi cars still on the race tracks instead of the garages restored to stock and never driven because of the ''value'' and the ''rareness''.
I hope it stays the same for many years to come...

Thank you! I couldn’t agree more!!!!

I gotta lil chubby myself and it ain't even mine.

Looking forward to seeing it this weekend. It will be my first time out this season.

Same here it will be nice to just be at the track. Look forward to seeing you there
I remember seeing that car run early '90's, while it was still a 4-gear, He was yanking the wheels off the ground 3×/pass!!! The 3rd pass I heard somebody saying.."You can't shift against the chip!!!".....lol, I'm guessing He was letting it bump against the rev limiter w/the shifter preloaded to bang the next gear. It was a sight!! It'll be awesome to have that car back in action again, keep it comin'!!!

Lol I believe it! I’ve heard many stories of him and my uncles 4 speed days and the crazy things they would do. I was only around for the automatic days unfortunately but the 4 speed days sounded fun

thanks for posting A body or not. That is a great story and an awesome looking HEMI. We had a local dentist here with 2 original hemi 4 gears...One Roadrunner and one Super Bee. They had a son a couple of years older than me. Once in a while his dad would let us take the Roadrunner down the country roads but never the Super Bee unless he was driving. Funny story as the Super Bee ended up with the warranty block and Doc blew it up...LOL The Roadrunner he let his son drive was always returned home engine in tact. That hood with all the stripes rocks! That's old school fun stuff ugly or not!

only thing better than having one hemi B-body is having 2 lol. I am beyond jealous.

So last evening my dad got home from work with his trailer to load his car. And the hitch receiver on his truck is bending over and starting to fail. So needless to say I gotta drive to get his trailer from his house then tow to the track. My truck handles his setup fine, but man does it feel like I’m towing the titanic behind me with how heavy it is

See you tomorrow

Update:
First pass my dad got the butterfly’s out of his system. Double bulbed by mistake and was in a tad deep. Rolled on the gas pedal, 1.31 60’ 5.87 at 116+mph

Second pass, made some front shock adjustments, tweak carb idle air screws little bit, and he was ready. 5.79 at 117.8mph 1.28 60’. New best

Third pass, tweak front shocks another two clicks, car hooked good,
5.770 118.39mph and 1.270 60’. New best.

Rear shocks need a little tweaking but all in all. We are ecstatic with how the car ran and I’m very happy for my dad.

Tomorrow is eliminations so I hope he can go a couple rounds.
