The dodge 1/2 ton truck used an 8 3/4 in them before 73 I believe. Since then it has mostly been 9.25

'74 was the last year for the 8 3/4. The Dak could have come with the 7 1/4 or the 8 1/4 through 97. Starting in '98 you could get the 9 1/4.
