Dart GT vinyl roof

I've owned 3 65/66 GTs and none of them had vinyl roofs. The trim looks like it was meant for a vinyl roof and I have always been curious but never asked the question till now. Was the vinyl an option, dealer installed etc.?

For 64 to 66 on GTs vinyl roof was an option. Could be had in black or white. Not sure about 1963 though!

Unlike the Barracuda which only got the special over-the-roof trim with a vinyl top, all 65-66 Dart GT's got the roof trim. Some did get the vinyl top.

This is my 65. I have owned it since 1969. It still has the original vinyl top on it to this day!
