Hi all, i had a few inquiries on the weight of my Dart lite parts.
So i finally had a chance to weigh them, and here are the results.
The hood weighed in at 44.2 lbs vs 57.0 lbs for a regular hood with latch. The hood has a outer skin of steel and a crimped on inner support of aluminum.
The bumpers front and back are 37.2 lbs each and do not include the bumperettes or the bumper to body shock absorbers.
I did not have a regular bumper off to compare them to. The bumper is the same and the inner structure is aluminum.
I could not weigh the trunk lid as some jackass tried to pry it open and is stuck on a car i bolted it on to to keep the rain out of the trunk. I will remove the rear seat and get into the trunk of the car to take it off next time i'm at my yard and weigh it then. It should be within a month. I'm pretty sure it has the aluminum inner structure as well.
I did nit have an intake manifold to weigh, but the savings would be substantial vs cast iron i'm sure.
I got all of these parts off of a car in the junkyard about 20 years ago.
