Dartin for Divorce

I have to know when to stop trying to make things better.

DD, I offer you a free ticket to my next workshop, "How to abandon OCD for TCOIL-M" (better known as Take Care Of It Later........Maybe). It offers many life tips and highlights the beauty of not really giving a crap if things get done or not. The really truly necessary does get enough attention to keep the wheels from falling off, but otherwise if it can wait and I'm not interested in it, off it goes to the Black Hole of Projects. Where it will join an immense backlog of other crap all waiting its turn to come back in the spotlight.

Ah, valve body. Thanks. Cheetah really threw me.

Yea sorry. They are turbo action shift kits, but the part # 17814 and the kit is cheetah power shifts...I can't find many new threads on them, most people recommend the transgo tf2 kit now.

That sounds like the perfect class for me.

False alarm... it was a loose converter bolt.. thinking back... I was told by aarcuda to put some lock tight on those things...

The 9.5" I got from them at the beginning of the year cost me $525 so they are discounted some. Maybe end of the year sale!

Is the ebay through PTC, is that where you got it and did you have to give them specs? or is this just a dealer of theirs?

Was doing my daily Craigslist window shopping... saw this near where I got my car from... its a listing for a 71 plum crazy dart... I dont care about the dart... I like the green cuda... I blacked out the person in the photo just to be nice.

I went to the PTC website and completed the spec sheet. A couple days later I called and talked with them. They recommended the 9.5" so I ordered it then.

Awesome gift, your backyard looks like my garage. No room for much else.

Its from "grandpa." Really we bought it and said it was from him and he is paying us for it. He didn't know what to get them this year lol. We put an inflatable pool in front of the swing set during the summer and we have this worthless space lol.

My garage is filled to the brim as well. I can't wait to have an actual shop. Seeing Tony's shop and all his extra space make me want it even more.

Adjusted my rear drums and bled my brakes again... now remember to not use the Ebrake because I think thats what threw them off last time... im not quite sure though. I could tell with my rear pads they were not wearing evenly, mostly on the top and bottom edges but not the middle of the shoe.

That's not uncommon, actually. Back in the day, shoes got ground to match the radius/diameter of the drum. Can you say asbestos dust? No one does it these days and QC on brake shoes is Garbage at best unless they're actual OEM parts for a late model (and few of them use shoes anymore).

Just keep adjusting them as they wear in. Or try to find an old school brake guy who still grinds shoes. Better yet, go to rear disc brakes and enjoy a simpler life

I can't go rear discs... It puts the wheels out farther out and I dont have any space between the wheels and the fenderwell :BangHead:

I also tried adjusting my ebrake but that dang bolt is so rusty that the nut doesn't want to spin. So I just backed it off as far as I could lol.

Custom offset wheels fix the space issue. Just tell the wife they make the car safer for the kids, or something.

At this point she knows I'm lying... lol. I was looking at different MCs today. She was like, the F you are... hopefully she doesn't get the package with my vb, 3.8 lever and band.... and how am I going to sneak the tc... :drama:

I’d get packages sent to my work, to hide my spending from my old lady Haha. But in reality she got way more stuff in the mail then I did.

I tried a little test, 120 grit adhesive strip stuck to inside of drum, and remove shoe and work it back and forth inside drum. It will arc the shoe to fit drum perfectly. I never thought about checking drum/shoe fit for a long time. Mostly, new shoes fit new drums fine.

Thats a great idea! The car is already put back together and working right; if I were to take it apart to try and "fix" something.... I'd probably break something haha.

Oh yea my wife gets deliveries daily I feel like. She says they are for the family and not just for a car though lol.

My deliveries are huge, one was a Gerst coil over front end, another a tremec 6 speed. The little packages I get sent home and she didn’t mind. Just thinks I’m a weirdo car person, she’s one that thinks cars are just transportation, she’s the weird one.
