VB installed, only minor problem is 1 mounting bolt hole doesnt like up due to the separator plate blocking 1/4th of the threaded hole on the transmission. Theoretically it should be ok due to it just being a securing bolt... but ya never know. I called transgo today with a couple of questions regarding the kit and this VB and its all squared away.

I'll try to get this stuff on tonight which should help with the fuel percolating and getting the correct kickdown/throttle cable pulls. Yes I went and got a lokar throttle cable just to make sure I have matching cables and they are supposed to be the best. For 25 bucks more its a drop in the bucket as long as it gets everything set up properly.

On the old vb the throttle valve was set up to to have no slack between the plunger and the push rod on bolt that attaches to the lickdown lever. I think this was contributing to not getting it to properly adjust. On this new vb I made sure there was a little free space between the 2.

I’m amazed at the speed of this project. Good job

changed your cam, then you had to rebuild a transmission that was working, now you are replacing a linkage that was working - hope this is the end of it for you this time DAMN

Doc you will be the VB specialist by the time this car is shifting correctly.

This is definitely the truth! I am hoping I have to do it 0 more times lol.

I know right?! I really hope I get 0 more gremlins that show up. Next time I rebuilt the trans I hope its because I blew it up beating @70aarcuda in a race down the 1/4... which will be in a very very very long time

Are you awake or still asleep dreaming?

I am awake, which is why I said I won't beat you in a race for a very very long time, which also means I won't have to rebuild the transmission for a long time... if ever right? :)

The 727 vb actually feels more smooth shifting through the gears. The park position is also much more narrow making it easier to catch.

Damn Doc, look at you! Wasn't more than a year ago if that you were barely able to tell where to put the gas in and which way the key faced in the lock!:poke:

Now you're rebuilding transmissions! I am truly impressed! Excellent work:thumbsup:

I still get confused with the keys  I'm going to get little tabs for the ends of them to keep track of which is which...

You know what kills a woman's sex drive don't you?

WEDDING CAKE!!!!!

Wedding cake vaccine is a 2 part vaccine as well.

Part 1 - eat wedding cake on wedding to start suppression of wife's sex drive...
Part 2 - eat wedding cake on 1yr anniversary to keep wifes sex drive suppressed for rest of her life.

 Then I should be fine, we didn’t have a wedding cake haha

Neither did we ... we had nice cupcakes... i think... i was really intoxicated that night... my wife told my brother we could start drinking jack Daniel's before the wedding as long as he made sure I showed up...

You know why they make 4 packs, 12 packs and 36 packs of condoms right?

36 packs to last the single guy a month
12 packs to last the guy who's been in a long term relationship
4 packs for the married guy.

:p

Nice work! I'd try to get that other bolt to go in just to be sure. Might have to ream out or elongate plate hole. Just sayin`

Just need to adjust kickdown cable, right now its just adjusted to a spot by hand. I think it looks great.

With the spacer I needed to get some longer carburetor studs. I got 2.5in studs but 2in studs probably would have been more than enough. Tonight ill change out that metal gas line that goes from the fuel filter to the carburetor.

Hopefully these things along with the new vb solve my bad shifts and fuel percolating issues. If not ill probably be back to square 1... or it will be the TC... But in crossing my fingers for the best

Looking good. What motor do you have in there?

Just a lil 340. Its 30 over with the xe268h cam and thats pretty much all the engine upgrades. Unless you count the headers and carb. One day I'd love to find a 340 block to build a 416 but thats probably a couple of years away.

O you will love it. I'm a 340 lover for sure. What gear and convertor?

Oh I really love the 340, its a great motor and it sounds amazing.

8.75 w/ 3.23 and sure grip. Tc is a stock tc rebuilt to 2500 stall. I don't know how the tc is yet because I haven't really been able to drive the car. I just got it rebuilt here in town when I did the transmission.
