Huh? Did someone say something about rabbit holes? We all need more rabbit holes!

top tip, don't sell any parts (even doubles) until you've done a full dry build. you just know for some reason the one part you sold is the one part you'll unexpectedly need.
neil.

Yeah that’s what I have been hearing a lot of. That and “get as many left over dart parts from the guy as you can.” It’s really crazy/awesome that the guy got all new bolts and screws for putting a lot of things together.

I’m going to have to start a new build thread for this beast…

Finding more missing parts and pieces. I think there is still a ton of stuff left at his shop to put this car together. Don’t have door hinges (in a box in old guys shop I bet), so I bought a new set, figured I’d probably rather have new ones anyways. I also need some gaskets… I also need to repaint the engine bay if we are going to change the color. Son wants turquoise. The copper looks amazing in the engine bay though, I kind of want to do the whole car copper but… my son doesn’t. Cleaned a little bit of the bay up and snapped some pictures to show the beauty.

Anyways. Temporarily installed front fenders to check body gaps and make sure they were in good shape… well dents in the brand new fenders, figured they would need some work.

Hood hinges don’t like to close all the way and I need new hood bolts… using some cheap wrong length 5/16th bolts to hold it in place.

This car is gonna cost a fortune and my wife is gonna kill me… lol

Organized parts in separate boxes as well. And took some pictures of some of the parts… these tail light housings, lenses and front/rear bezels are amazing… need to get a new grill and tail panel, ones in perfect shape.

Those tail lamps are sweet. They appear to have dots around them? Are they LED, or just packed in bubble wrap?

No bubble wrap, at least I don’t remember them having bubble wrap. idk if they are LED I only had them out for a minute they I wrapped them back up and put them up in a box so so didn’t break them.

Slow and easy wins the race, do as much as you can your self, put the shell together, pull the engine and let the body shop make it pretty.

That’s the plan… kinda my adhd kicks in and makes me just want to tinker with it. Got new door hinges, a FSM, and currently searching for a lot of things including front bucket seats (found some 67 buckets but my new foam and interior is for a 69).

I want to install the doors and the trunk this weekend to see how everything lines up.

I have to mess with the hood and see if I can get it to close all the way… it closes if I press hard on the back where it’s popped up, but when you remove the pressure it pops back up.

You guys need a parys chase trip to Clay and Sons S of St. Lois, but go to the Mopar day coming up and you might find what you need.

I think I am going to go to the Mo-Kan drag strip day on like April 15th if that’s the mopar day you’re talking about.

Sweet deal on the new project! The only thing better than a 69 Dart is TWO 69 Darts!
