Hey guys.
this is about the 74 Dart Swinger might work with other models.
My dash pad was toast, so I bought some nice vinyl to repair it with,
then had to take it off the dash. You need to remove the glove box the
need to remove the instrument panel. each end has a sheet metal screew, and there
are about 6 studs coming from the pad. these use speed nuts. there is one in
the center and at least with my hands can not be removed. I just cut the old pad out
then drilled out the stud...If you do this be careful on the passenger side not to lean
on the glove box door.

I was also going to take the radio out as its not working any longer. there are eight
speed nuts of 1/2 dia. three on each side and two spaced above the air\vent control
space. again the instrument panel needs to be taken out. to get those three on that
side of the dash... Also there are two long studs from that cover plate back past the
radio depth that has nuts on them... really best to do the radio removel with the
dash pad off, as you can see what you are doing. I decided at this time to put the
dash pad back on, and just go with an after market radio hung under the dash..
Well just thought some would like to know.
Now I'm tracing out some electrical issues, for lights inside the car,
no dome light, no door lights, etc:
best
