When looking for a motor should i be looking for stock harness and computer? I guess im confused on how you get the engine and car linked together. Or should i be focused on just finding a motor and buying aftermarket wiring and computer? I want my install to be clean in apperance bu i also plan on some after market horsepower too. Im not to worried about mileage

The advice I keep receiving is that there's too much security stuuf in the factory computer, and too much unnecessary wiring in the factory harness. Looking at the Holley HP and the EFI Source setups, wiring is gonna be pretty clean, and simple to install.

FAST has a couple systems you could look at. They have the ez efi and efi 2.0. The 2.0 is a plug and play comes with throttle body and is a direct plug and play has self tuning but can do anything from traction control, boost control, nitrous controller, 2 step and the list goes on. The ez efi is self tuning system, boost and nitrous friendly and works with bolt on parts cam swaps. Both good systems that can be purchased in different configurations. Check out fast man efi he has great prices and will set you up with the system that will best suit you.

Those efi setups listed above run spark, timing, and fuel? I am an old school motor head. Im not up to date on all this electric stuff. Trying to learn spanish seems easier lol

Talk with Modern Muscle or Hotwire Auto. They can reprogram a 2005 Ram computer and supply the wiring harness. I went thru Hotwireauto.com and he sold me a complete plug and play harness for $950 that also runs the 545RFE trans, and he supplied an used 05 Ram computer, reprogrammed for $300 (new available for $700).

Yes. Unless you opt to carb and just run the MSD Hemi 6, pretty much any system (MegaSquirt, FAST, Holley, Mopar Performance, etc) will cover both sides.

I agree, if you are going to modify the engine a lot, then go that route, but the amount of money invested is twice as much. If you plan to stay stock or close to it (cam swap), then go factory stuff.
