I have what I believe is 1966 273 commando engine, tried running number on block it comes up 273 or 318. Block number is 2806030-1 number on the heads is 2658920-2. Thanks

Look on the front of the block, just under the head on the drivers side.
There is a stamping there with info.

I know I'm right....
the CID will be cast into the side of the LA block, 318 next to the casting number, 273 wont have this. The heads numbers could cross to a 318 as they were pretty much the same.

In 67 (maybe 68????) and older wasn't the 318 only a poly?
