Sorry if this seems redundant but I need some help.identifying a transmission.

My father recently.passed and I inherited a 1965 formula S that is in pieces and about 20 percent restored. I have two four.speed transmissions. One came original on the car and my dad marked that transmission well, so I know what goes with the car.

The second transmission is the one in question. I am trying to find out what it came out of and what it may be worth. The numbers stamped are PP833 3448 0093. From what I have read on this forum I think this transmission was built sometime early January of 71. Correct?

The other number which I suspect is the VIN is 1A157962.

Can anyone tell me any more info on what I have. I would hate to sell something rare for a basement price.

I am not sure if this is original to the transmission, but it has the slap stick shifter.

I do not have the input shaft spline count. Yet.

Welcome Aboard! Where are you at in Oregon?

slap stick shifter would be for an automatic.

dual pattern tail shaft B and E body - it is a desirable unit. condition depending 4-500 is typical w/o shifter or rods.

PP833 3448 0093
PP = New Process
833 = trans type 4-speed
3448 = 10k assembly date code - Tuesday, January 5, 1971
0093 = 93rd transmission assembled that day.

Correct this is a partial VIN of the car it came from 1A157962
1 = 1971
A = Cars build factory A= Lynch Road factory,
157962 = last 6 of cars VIN.

That's a pistol grip shifter in your pics....

Welcome to FABO :cheers:

Thanks for the info. That gives me a good jumping off point. I am in Salem and "some" of the car is still in Washington. I have everything in Salem except for the shell and the motor.
I have a year or two before I can realistically finish the car.
