Del is getting a new girl and she is trying to kill the old guy

Both those things were options. I've never ordered a new car, but back then there was lots of stuff you could check off individually, making for some "weird" optioned cars LOL

!!!IT RUNS!!!

I was not going to mess with the car at all, but putting things away (just came in, nearly 5:30, I'm beat!!) ..........anyway I needed the spare battery to run the winch a short time so I could unhook and put it away. So I had the battery.........and the jumpers.........and hooked er up.....Cranks ok..........went and got a squeeze bulb of gas and man she fired right UP!!! Sounds good, all 6, ran maybe 15 seconds on what is in the carb

I think the drum brake cars stayed small bolt until 75. (74 being the last year) Correct me if I'm wrong guys.
You're close.
All A-Bodies built after January 1st 1976 had bbp disc brakes regardless of engine or options.
All A-Bodies from '73 to '76 had bbp disc brakes if ordered with power brakes regardless of engine.
All A-Bodies from '73 to '76 V8 cars had bbp disc brakes regardless of power or manual.
All A-Bodies from '73 to '76 340 and 360 cars had bbp front disc brakes power assist only.
All A-Bodies from '73 to '76 had bbp rear ends to go with the front bbp disc brakes either 7 1/4 or 8 1/4 sizes, and all 340 or 360 cars were 8 1/4 only. (They did not make any sbp 8 1/4 rear ends BTW)
If you ordered a car with a slant 6 and manual brakes, you got sbp 9'' front drums and a sbp 7 1/4 rear end automatically from '73 to Jan 1st '76 when bbp and disc front brakes became mandatory.
I hope this helps...............

Can't wait to see if there's build sheet.

I'd almost bet it's a dealer demo, program, or late build "give it all the options left in the bin" build.

I had a late build 74 Charger that had nearly every option except a cassette deck or a big engine.

That is a beautiful car Del!! That this is straight.

Thanks. It is apparent that the lower corners of the rear pillars are "a problem" under the vinyl. I bet that is where the trunk was leaking, and it may have migrated to the rear window channel. So this is not exactly a walk in the park. And the trunk floor is for all practical purposes "toast."

So it's not a walk in the park. But the rest of it appears SOLID..Looking under, the main floor pan, rockers, etc are pretty much rust free. And it is STRAIGHT. Bumpers show a little rust but "driveable." Some of it may polish out of the bumpers. No dents or bends in the bumpers

Now,................if I can just live through to spring LOL

Is that original paint that you can tell? Looks really clean inside and out. I don't think iv ever saw a factory red scamp now that I think about it.

Del do you still have your other car?
Last I remember it was tore down for paint.

Yes, the goal "for last summer" was to get the engine/ trans set back in and get it to move ---easier to get on/ off the hoist, several things slowed that down

1...I'm working 3 days a week
2...We had a hot summer and heat and I don't get along so well anymore
3...Lots of summer fire smoke, and for the first time ever it bothered my eyes so bad I spent a fair amount of time NOT going outdoors
4...We thought the estate was sold, and I wasted A LOT of time moving stuff off the property.

Engine is mostly together, I going to put the existing trans that had been in there back

I have yet to check the paint code. It HAS been repainted, and is in fairly good condition

My 70 440-6 RR had the buckets/ fold down center. I really liked that setup. No console Wish I had THAT back. Sold in ?? 78 ish ?? This faded old photo was taken in either 73 or 4. Had a 340 swapped in by then. You cannot see because of fading, but it had the black stripe hood and air grabber. Dana/ 4 speed/ knee knocker aftermarket AC. Side exit pipes right before the rear tires. Wish I had a good photo of them. The entire exhaust was a big "H" unbolt the headers, unbolt a mount bolt on each side, and the entire thing dropped right out. Balance pipe in front, and a brace across behind the mufflers held it all together. Ran big quiet RR/ GTX mufflers

I certainly don't know your plans, but, this would be a great way to get back "into" an A-body even if only temporarily. You still have a bunch of work to do the, 67 I believe, Dart. Heck if this is as good as it looks............Heck ya! I'm a Scamp guy too. "Everybody has a Dart!" :)

I don't even know, yet. It's a slant and the seller said the transmission "was starting to slip" who knows. When it warms up a bit I'll get it off the trailer and "see what we have." So far as the vinyl/ roof rust, I could even drive it as is if I figure a way to get it under the carport.

I still have the 318 last used in the Dart with a mild cam, and junked a moredoor with an oil burner and that 904 may be OK. It was undrivable due to a wallered out hole for one LCA pin
