It's on tonight on Discovery, I believe at 10. Restoration show. Thought I'd pass it along. Rog
Not much in restoration, some eye candy, and staged drama . . . oh well . . . lol :disgust:
I knew it was gonna be lame when the dad owns the salvage yard and his son runs it, but dad NEVER lets the son onto his personal lot of project cars that "he is going to restore someday"!!! More TV drama. Why choose a 442 to restore when he already has one restored?!? I didn't even make it half way before I fell asleep.
lol I did the same.
I did notice in the commercial for the show that there is a red Dart on the top of a heap of cars. It's only visable for a fraction of a second, but I'd know that roof line and rear quarter anywhere!
care to share the name of the shop, since i didnt see the show.....they are high priced and rude. they screwed me on my 68 charger back in 99' i bought my charger from fellow mopar guy in el paso, tx. delivered and it needed a little bit of TLC, but i listened to my friends and ex-boss back then and they said it was a basket case. all it needed was an engine, transmission and rear quarter panel repair it had a good interior but they gave me $300 for it and they stripped it for parts n $$$. they wanted $400 for a trunk floor from a 4 dr coronet. can u say high price. there is no way to do a complete proper resto on that 442 in 10 days w/o cutting corners. it would take more than 10 days to strip it completely and bag n tag everything. i am sorry but when i did my 69 fastback mustang back in the 80's it took me n my dad 3 yrs to do a complete resto and it is taking me 2 yrs so far to get everything for my 65 cuda so i can get it ready for a complete overhaul
dvap-desert valley auto parts off of 7th st. and happey valley rd.
They're the kind of guys that would look at a crappy old part and get excited about how "nice" is was.
everyone knows that rusty parts are cool. :banghead:They were discussing how a dual gate shifter works and the old man said 1-2-3-4!! Must have been a rare four speed auto in that '70 442!! Then they showed a picture of the shifter installed and it still had rust on it!! Nice...
