327 chevy/350hp from factory,1964 vet motor in a 1964 impala, saw my uncle on column shift from 3rd to 2nd at 5000 rpm so he could .as he sad WIND HER UP,,i was waiting on pieces to go thru side of motor,but it held together, needless to say he had been putting away the budweisers.

The 327 small journal, do hammer... ask me how I know .. peak torque is around 5 k ,much less peak horsepower...
