I have a 64 valiant the volt reg is in the gas gauge. I thought that was the problem because neither gauge would work. only to find the pins at the circuit board would rock slightly breaking the connection. I found this with the boards out on the bench running the cluster with a remote power source. also found that a bad ground to the board would not let the heater warp the contact causing the gauges full voltage pinning the gauges. I'm getting pretty good with these problems.
