Drove down south of Tampa this morning to pick up the rearend that TA head was giving away, and a few guy
s told me to go get it !
And ended up with a little bit more goodies. Not really a lot but maybe enough to make it worth the trip.

Theresa and got to meet Mike @TA head 69? . Very nice guy, and a couple nice Mopars also. He showed us his Hobby/Side Gig. Which we didn't think of taking pics of his work.
He called them ANT NEST Castings. Maybe if he sees this he can post 1 or 2 up. Anyway we just want to give Mike a shout out for being so generous and giving the rearend for free !

Always good to hear good meet up stories! What the heck is that?
Steve, he melts down aluminum, like old wheels and automatic transmission cases and pours them down ant nests (hills). Then very carefully digs out around it in a few days. Most people that do it use a water hose and shop vac when they get close, so they don't destroy the form. It's a form of art work. Some do ant hills and some do bees nests in the ground. Never seen one where somebody had enough molten aluminum to do a ground hog burrow....lol.

He has a bunch there. a lot of different metals . like copper, brass maybe . Silver ! Sells for a lot of cash !

Solenopsis Invictus. Invasive fire ant. It is upside down. It does have an eye bolt embedded in the bottom so it can hang correctly with a 3 rpm 110 volt 500 lb capacity gear box. Aluminum is 6061 billet block scrap from a friend's machine shop.
