They are arp bolts and just ordered a cover that looks to have more clearance so we'll seeARP makes great converter bolts....thin heads like they are suppose to be....plus blue locktite...

Currently at my dad's house just got off work so most likely tonight or tomorrow morning I'll take a look at it but I just need to fill her with tranny fluid and route the new shift cable. so far pan looked fine so went ahead and installed deep pan. When I hand shift it into park I try to move her and seems like parking pawl still intact. Is that a correct way to check beside removing tail shaft? Also found my noise problem from the inspection cover so ordered another one that looks like it will clear it converter bolts were good as well. Here is pictures of the damage.So.....what's the status?
Jeff
Yeah seems like its only in third cause I'll hear a clunk when it shifts and almost seems like something moves. If I give it has in third it will just shake violently can't go past 30 it didn't do that before the cable incidentWell, that isn't a good sign....only in third?
Jeff
Reverse holds good I think got to give it a little more gas but probably the stall right? don't see a issue with it. I got the trans from a buddy that didn't know anything on it but when I pulled it open it looks clean and everything looked alright so I buttoned it back up. It has a shift kit in it I noticed as well and I have a 3k stallSounds like it has a slipping front clutch. How does reverse hold? What is the history of this trans?
Is your kickdown/throttle valve linkage hooked up and adjusted correctly?
Also as for kickdown linkage it has a lokar one and I think it's adjusted correctly I followed instructions but even out of adjustment would that cause a violent shake? Sorry for all questionsSounds like it has a slipping front clutch. How does reverse hold? What is the history of this trans?

The driveshaft u joints? The shaft and u joint are all brand new from Dr diff and they looked fine when I check themKD wouldn’t cause that. With a clunk like that it sounds like 3rd is coming on b4 2nd is finished releasing. Did a clip come out of a unjoint or is 1 buggered? Kim
Shift cable was hooked up and fine, kickdown hooked up and adjusted, fluid level was good as well. I don't know if it was a good transmission but before the cable melting problem when I took it for that first small test drive it didn't do this. I'm not sure what this would be but I'm either going to have to rebuild it maybe get a TCI tranny maybe. When my next day off hits I'm going to look at it more. After dropping the pan and replacing with deep pan and all I put in about i wt to day 7-8 quarts because the deep pan and took forever to register. The engine it was attached to that i got from the guy had a blown head gasket and piston to head issues. That's the only history I have on it and when I opened it up it seemed clean other then the vb(has a shift kit b and m) has a lot of black stuff throughout itThere’s 3 things that you can look at externally as far as the trans goes. The shift cable, kick down linkage and fluid level. If those are all correct then the problem is inside. Front clutch could be slipping or 2nd gear band could stay applied. The 727 is one of the easiest transmissions to work on. But you may need a pro to check it out and fix it.
Then what would u advise, tci is pretty much all I can affordDon’t buy a TCI tranny. They don’t last. Kim
Only one in my town is aamco lol I'll see what there is but tci is really that bad? Only got like 1100 budget for a tranny or so lolCheck out the tranny shops around u. Ask some mopar racers if u know any
What about a and a transmission that's near me they any good?Their also may be a member close to u to build u a tranny. If u weren’t so dam far away I’d build u one and ship it to u. Kim
