Diff Dilemna! Need opinions!

I understand everyone is trying to help, but i want the car on the ground to test and then move from there..i dont think one launch will kill it, and if it does, well then you can all i say i told you so lol

but like i said, one bit of hop and im jumping on the suggestions and putting them into action

Believe me, I'm on your side. Just check that axle to be sure the flange is true. I don't want to see your trans end up like mine did. You cant tell by just looking at that picture but the tail shaft stayed bent about 1/8". Like Crackedback said "All it takes is once".

By the way, many years ago, I broke an automatic trans when a ring gear let go and know of 2 others who took out transmissions because of problems that started in the driveline. I will look forward to the results of your test...

unless you have the cash to send me for the all these new parts that "i should have had from the start" then just let me take it one step at a time...its not a race car, its a street car, and i need my transportation back, so i just need it back on the road

everything you have told me is 100% correct, but if the cash isnt there, should i steal the stuff? i can only do so much, and right now im doing the best i can with the funds/parts available to me...i wish i could have bought all the nice stuff from the start but sometimes it doesnt work out that way

eh man i know...i dont think anyone here would try to steer me wrong

trust me, i know im taking a chance with that one launch, hell im actually scared too mainly because of the broken axle...but until i can get the money, its going to have to do..i dont plan on beating the snot out of it till all this gets sorted out, and im not buying a new axle until im sure the wheelhop is GONE for good...unfortunatly this car is my main transportation as well, so i need it back up and running asap

I will be sure to post the results and as always i am open to suggestions...i will act on those suggestions when my paycheck is enough or my tree in the backyard starts sprouting greenies LOL:-D

i have always ran a full spool on the street i like it because it is always there never ever one wheels. the only thing is that it will wear tires on the inside over time ,but guys like me and you tires dont usually last too long anyway! i love it ,go for it. cheaper, stronger, lighter, there is no down side and when you roll into a parking lot of guys and they hear that inside tire churping they know you have come to do work and you mean business

I know this is a bit late, but something that was not mentioned here at all.
If you were running street tires at standard pressure, on the sticky track they will
chatter like crazy when cold. You need to drop psi and warm them up if just a little.
I ran into this with my 69 340 4 speed dart at Bandamere on a 60 deg evening. When the guy's on a test&tune night said I should run my car with them. This car NEVER wheelhopped in 28yrs of street and track with or without slicks. I dropped the tire psi to 15 and smooth as glass. That first launch chattered so violently that the glovebox emptyed. I was suprised I did'nt break everything. Another old guy like me said "did'nt drop yer tire pressure did ya!!!" Cold track/fresh rosin/ hard, over psi stock radials=bad chatter!!!

Driven a spooled vehicle on the street, you learn a thing or 2 about driving on wet roads. Gotta say it was kind of fun, drifting thru corners with relative ease. If you do not understand what countersteering is all about you will. Comment was made about pushing a car with a spool, to me it felt like some wise *** had his foot on the brake.

well, its funny this post came up again...the car now has caltracs in it, and i just picked up a dana with 4.10's today for the car...Should be a fun year next year with the new motor, and hopefully less breakage too!
