Howdy people, I'm looking to the rear end gurus here for a little identification of a rear end I picked up in a buy! It is a 741 case, and the gear is a 3:73, but it's the SureGrip unit im in question about! I was told that Randy's set it up, and thinking it's an aftermarket Auburn unit, but I just want to be sure before I use it! Here's a couple pics of each side of the SG unit!!

Any help would be much appreciated!! Thanks all, Geof

Looks like an early Auburn Pro Series. They changed the case later on. The #'s dont jive but Randys could tell you on monday. Its an Auburn logo after the part #, but doesnt appear to have the polished end plate the newer ones do. Great unit though.

Should be good fort little convertible project!! While the 741 scares some people, I find it just fine for my little early A's!! And the price was definetly right!!

Thanks for the replies everybody, I'll call Randy in the morning!!

If it scares you to much I'll take it. I've beat on more 741's in my life than I can remember! That 1 3/8" pinion every one is scared of is bigger than a Ford 9" which is 1.313!
