Dim Oil light

I just noticed on my buddy's Duster 340 "72" that when you turn the lights on the oil light on the dash appears to comes on very dim. Now if I turn the dimmer for the dash light's down it too goes out. Could this be that the dash lights are just bright enough that they are reflecting off a little and it just looks like the light is on? When the lights are off in too goes off, any Ideas?

Sounds like the dash lights are trying to light up the oil indicator.....

That's what I thought, Just wanted to run it buy the fabo guru's.
