I bought this kit at the local auto parts warehouse because when I bought my junkyard disc brake setup from Pick N Pull it didn't have it. I figured out rather quickly how the holdowns and anti-rattle clips went but what's with the rubber band looking things?

Bendix/Wagner part number H5516 for this kit.

It's been waaaayyyy too long, but if I remember right, the rubber band go around the caliper brackets just under where the pads contact the slider surface. It's supposed to keep the pad from rattling. They usually dry rot and break soon after install. We always tossed 'em.

go buy a service manual. it will tell ya most of ther stuff ya need to know about your car..

I got a 72 Plymouth service manual for my car but the front discs (and rearend) are from a 88 5th Ave and my stubborn @$$ didn't wanna buy a Chilton for a 5th Ave for 2 items. 72 manual covers the pin type and the kelsey hayes.

EDIT: thanks for the pic Joe
