disc break adaptability

Hi guys going to local junk yard tomorrow that just got in a 78 aspen, my question is are front a arms and disc breaks going to work on my 69 dart. thanks rich.

A-arms won't work. Spindles, brakes, and calipers will. And a '78 Aspen might even have 11.75" front disks, so get everything attached to the spindle and you'll have 11.75" rotors for your car.

11.75" rotors will require 15" or bigger wheels.

Thanks for the info, picking up tomorrow from spindles out. this site is awesome. tried to post pics and downsize them ,what a pain in the a.. must be the operator i e me I will win the battle. will post pics soon. 69dart,380 crate,727 narrowed 8and 3/4, mini tubbed (learned how to do it here).still on rotissiere .thanks everyone, nw dart.

F-Bodies (Aspen, Volare, etc.) never came with 11.75" brakes. Only the B-Bodies.

Not impossible to find them on the car, but they weren't factory. Don't think the cop cars even came with them. Pretty sure my 78 Super Coupe didn't.

Doesn't mean the rotors and adapters are worthless, just that they probably wont be the big ones. Calipers are the same regardless of the size.

Went to the junkyard today and got the spindels rotors and calipers off the aspen,were not the 11and3/4 but nevertheless 125.00 for all.gotta be happy with that. nwdart

Yeah the FJM stuff is the best deal running for swapping over to disk brakes, just have to find your big ball joint UCA's or sleeve the small ball joints with Dr. Diff's kit.
