I have rewired the car using an EZ wire wiring kit and want to add a the brake light indicator from the block safety switch.

Just trying to understand how the bulb gets power. My thinking is: Bulb gets 12v one side and the ground goes to the switch on the block and the block also goes to ground? That way if the switch trips it completes the circuit via ground?

Is that right?

Thanks

Yep that's right.

Go to mymopar.com and down load your car's (or as close to it) factory service manual and wiring diagrams

Also classiccarwiring.com has for about 20 bucks colored easy to follow factory like wiring diagrams.

That way you can see where the circuit gets it's power from.

Works just like a dome light. The brake lever has a grounding switch, and the hydraulic warning lamp circuit switch is in parallel. So if either you have a hydraulic problem, or the parking brake is engaged, the lamp will light

Your oil lamp works same way. Key switched power to insulated lamp, gets ground through sender
