Hi guys,
I replaced my cap and rotor, one wire at a time and now my car won't start, just back fires. I've done this before on other cars with no problems. I got out and had a look. I noticed that there was part of a zip tie in my carb. I had to cut off a bunch of zip ties that were holding my wires together and I thought I did it really carefully, but I guess not. I was able to get it out with some needle nose, however it still won't start. It's pretty sad... Could I have mixed up a wire or is it my carb acting up from the zip tie? Any ideas??
Thanks

I would start with checking your wire work... see if this poor mans diagram helps

The firing order is 18436572

8--------dist---------7
6---------------------5
4---------------------3
2---------------------1
--------------------------------LF of car
--------------------------------or battery

-----------0--0
---------0------0
---------0------0
-----------0--0- (should be #1)

Just to be sure, open the butterfly on the carb and take a peek with a flashlight to make sure there is no other debris in there, or that it is not hung up on something that may have fell in. That being said... I am betting you swapped the #5 &#7, it happens frequently.
