Do any old timers remember seeing these on a 1971?

These hubcaps came on my used 1971 Demon but the internet says that these are for 1972 Demons (and other '72 cars). So might these have come on '71 Demons late in 1971? Or maybe a previous owner put them on...

It doesn't help figuring out when those hubcaps first came out but I have a set that came off of a mid-'70s Dodge Dart.

I bought a72 swinger a few years back with the sane wheel covers . I believe we're original to the car.

Looking through the factory brochures, it does appear that those hubcaps started on 1972 Darts and continued through 1976.

Factory sales brochures.
Thanks for that link. Another website that has the same type of info is something I can never spell, LOLOL

I used to own a 1971 Dodge Dart 4 door Sedan, that came with those exact hub caps. I bought it wrecked in the front, and fixed it up and drove it for awhile. It was low mileage and no modifications, so I assumed that they were original

I know what you mean. I put both of those links in a separate Favorites folder that's easier to remember/associate with when needed - "DODGE HISTORY"

Ok, thanks everyone for the information. I was just trying to find what hubcaps were correct for a very base model '71 Demon. I doubt deluxe wheel covers (option W11) were ordered for this car.

But I think I did find an answer, for the reference of anyone who cares about wheel hubcap cover things (it seems that most people threw them in the garbage and put aftermarket wheels on their cars). According to the 1971 Dodge Demon Options and Accessories Report (found in the Demon registry on this website), Demon W11 deluxe wheel covers looked like this first picture for 1971. And Demon W11 deluxe wheel covers looked like the second picture for 1972. It appears that no '71's had the '72 deluxe wheel covers when new (just a guess based on member input as well as all the original brochures and magazine ads for Demons from 1971-72).

I don't know why this drives me crazy, but these are wheel covers not hub caps. I am getting too old.
Yeah, I worked at a Dodge Dealer in the 70's. Owner Lou would give us hell for calling them hubcaps.
He felt the word hubcaps meant cheap. Wheel covers sounded classy.

With Ma Mopar, never say never. If it was at the end of 1971, there is a reasonable possibility it could have 1972 wheel covers. My Dad ordered a new Dodge passenger van in the mid 70's, I don't remember the exactly what year, it was at the end of the model year and the entire interior was the next model years. It was a big change from what it was supposed to have.
