I have a 408 stroker in my 69 dart my fuel pressure is around 3lbs with a stock fuel pump. What should it be with a new stock fuel pump? My car runs crapy the way it is now it surges all the time when I pin it Fuel lines are all stock size people say 5 to 10 lbs is good is that true?

Upgrade the fuel system with bigger lines first. Bigger engine needs more food, feed it with more gas from bigger fuel lines first off.

You Will Need at Least 6 to 7lbs of pressure , Fuel Lines too small , Also change the line from the Tank , Most people forget about this , Personally I would be Running an electric pump with a Regulator and possibly a Return line,

A stock 5/16" fuel line will definitely handle 6psi or higher.
