Does this ignition switch look correct?

-
the 179 comes with matching door locks etc.... if all you need is the switch only and can still use your old key cylinder and other hardware the 20 dollar one looks ok.

Yes just the ignition and it would be kind of cool if I could still use the 51 year old key for the door:lol:

you can still use the 50 year old lock cylinder in the new ignition switch too if you still have it.

I'll tell you what the problem is. The toggle if that's the right word keeps pulling out of the cylinder with the key if you forget to put your finger on it while taking your key out of the ingniition

The cylinder has what I'd call a retaining pin. If that's failed, might need a new cylinder.

Take the locks to the locksmith before you install them and he can make them match the old key...

Maybe the pin is stuck and may just need a little penetrating fliud to free it up.

And have two keys like a stinking Chevy. No thanks. As others have said if you really want to use those old worn keys you can have a lock smith repin the cylinders.

Usually, if the lock cylinder pulls right out of the switch without having to depress the button, the switch housing is usually bad. Just aluminum or pot metal switch housing, so, it wears out easily. '69 uses a unique ignition switch, lock cylinder, and bezel. The $20 one you linked to is not for a '69 model, it's for the '68 and earlier ones.
