Ernestina has been reading about how troublesome the preservatives are in commercial dog training treats...once this heat breaks going to get back to attempting to train our 3 bucketheads. Ernie has been looking into making our own training treats.
Talking about dehydrating lean beef, chicken and various fruits that our pups like.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated....

my last dog was diabetic so we made treats for him. Made them with liver (we had found a recipe online) i personally cant stand the smell of liver but they were all natural and the dogs seemed to love them!

I've done it...and I do it sometimes. I can't say if the dogs like my treats better. My dogs are garbage head hogs so they love all treats.

I did have some go bad because of no preservatives. So I started making smaller batches.

When we started making our own biscuits we left them on the counter...and had some spoil. We now let them cool all the way, stuff them in a sealable container and in the fridge they go, haven't had any more troubles
