don,t know why ?

well i swaped my 3 on the tree four a shifter less coulum cause i went 4 speed the coulum i had was to short so i swaped my shaft from the 3 speed over cause it was longer. well it still seems to short. where do i find the adp. to make it work i,ve read of one on here before? it,s a 71 with manual steering.

I don't think there should be any difference in length. usually you'll need an adapter when you swap from power to manual box. the shaft slides in and out of the column, did you pull it out?
Flaming river has nice adaptors, but as i said, i'm not cetain you need it.
