RIP Mike, I'll play some Doobies today.
Most likely The Captain and Me, one of my favorite albums...

He took it to the streets. I didn't know until I moved out here that many Delta blues rock bands were actually from around Berkeley, CA (CCR, Country Joe, ...). I recall the Doobies were also. They also did some Christian rock that went top 40.

Saw them play in Newport Rhode Island on the beach about 12 yrs ago. Free concert and they rocked it up!! RIP

Rest in peace Michael and thank you for all the great music you and the band sent my way. Thank you Big Mike :notworth:

Ditto on "The Captain and Me", Love the peddle steel quitar and back beat on "South City Midnight Lady"

Love the peddle steel guitar and back beat on "South City Midnight Lady"

One of my all time favorite bands. Saw them in concert 1979. I agree on the "South City Midnight Lady".

What a world, him and davy Jones. RIP. Sadly I got the feeling a third one will be dying soon! :(

That's a real drag. I liked their music when I was growing up.

RIP Mike, my favorite Doobie Brothers song. You can cheat the hangman ....but not cancer.
