Door Striker Post

How does one fix a loose door striker post. The post has come loose on my 71 Scamp, inside the door jamb.

Can you weld that thin metal or can you drill and countersink without the door hitting the bolts or screws?

The earlier year models had a steel block for a nut traped in a sheet metal box. Something along those lines would work. You'll need to go into the rear interior panel to get there. An oversized washer behind the post will cover the cracked sheet metal but... 99% of the time worn door hindges caused the problem.

That explains it, my door hinges need some help too.

Order the hindge bushing and pin kits (ebay maybe) and we'll hash over that fix . Those kits dont come with instructions.
