Doug's '68 Dart

-
Haven’t made much progress in the last five months. Really needed some motivation. Ran into a young Mopar aficionado (and his dad) at the tire shop with his Duster (or maybe a Demon, didn’t get a close look) and the smile on his face when we talked cars gave me some inspiration. I’ll try to put a foot in my rear end and make some progress this summer. I told him he could find my progress here so I wanted to bump my thread to the front for him.

Car is finally getting its paint. It will be Hellfire Red with the factory tail stripes ghosted in similar to this Cobra. Can’t wait!

Looks great.

I actually liked it dull without the gloss. That's just me.

i've always flatted and polished the day after paint. that was on the advice of a long time painter freind of mine. he said 'modern' 2k hardens over time (like concrete, lol) so it's best to get it flatted as soon as it's 'set'. if not it gets harder and harder to sand. he said can you see professional body shops waiting days before flatting and polishing? they'd go bust with cars just sat in their shops like that.
neil.
