Drag Racing Returns Tonight..

After almost 2 months off for the summer because of the heat, bracket racing returns to the Strip in Las Vegas, only problem it is still summer. High today 107...

the DA currently is 5438...probably get a little worse before the day is over...gates open at 4 pm...bring your sun tan lotion.


Daughter called and said she was washing and loading her car this morning would meet me at the track around 4 pm...

Last time out her Dart ran 11.00s....probably lose a couple of tenths...

Might will probably slow down into the high 10.80s or 10.90s... Thunderstorms are moving in and you can feel the humidty ...

Thunderstorms? I thought the explanation was "...but it's a dry heat" Yeah, just like the oven at Thanksgiving when the turkeys basking in the 'dry heat'.
107 and thunderstorms...that's just gotta be wonderful.
And here I'm thinkin' it was too warm today in OC, SoCal, at 87 with 37% humidity and a light breeze.

No..she did not wash the car...she was going to stop at the car wash...you know the .25 spray type..

she called and the trailer blew a tire.....the spare was already in use since the trailer blew a tire last time she came out in May...anyway i told her to to nurse the trailer to the track and she could take my trailer home...I had some thing to do her trailer ...have new aluminum ramps to mount ...

anyway..i stop at the 7-11 in front Nellis AFB to get some gas for the motorhome ...i look at my trailer and i have a flat tire...so I call her...and she is sitll motoring towards the track..

I am only a couple miles from the track so I nurse my towards the track...well..a few hundred feet before where you turn in the second tire on the same side blows..

I pulled off the road...call the kid...she is only a few miles behind me now..

I decide to pull the two blow tires off ....and take one off the other side so..i would have one tire on each side ....now it is 100+ out...and I am no spring chicken...

jacked one side of trailer...removed both shreed tires..

Tonya shows up...we use second jack to raise the other side of trailer...remove one good tire..mount on other side..

we both limp into track...LOL

my car runs 10.93 and 10.96 in time trials...and I red light in first round...I just wanted to go home.....LOL

she has problems with getting squirely going down the track...we put some more air in the tires..and she runs a 11.34 @ 117...better..

first round.....dials an 11. 34...the other guy redlights...she goes 11.29...good to get freebee in 1st round..

the track has jet cars and the stupid Bigfoot trucks as part of a booked in show..big foot is doing dounuts on the starting throwing mud all over the place...put the jet car burn the rubber on the starting line...track sprays a little bit of vht and that is it..

second round i tell her dont be in the first several pair of cars after the jet cars...they screw up the starting line...well...she manages to be the 1st pair out...

her car and the other guy go all over the place getting off the starting line...luckly..the other guy red lights..and she has to get out of it..

the 3rd round..the track is like ****..and bunch of people having same problem....the car *** end squirts to the right went she launches...runs a 11.39 on 11.29 dial...and we are finally going home as I am about to die from heat stroke...

Well...I gotta go buy 8 tires for trailers in the next couple of weeks...leave tuesday to go out of town for a couple of days for class for work....Raliegh ....North carolina...LOL

I am about ready to quit this ****....LOL
