View attachment 1714995375 I dont understand why everybody overlooks the Pontiac 301 turbo setup. It includes everything in a neat package and even uses the Thermoquad/Quadrajet bolt pattern. All you have to do is make a small adapter plate and it's a bolt on to the slant intake. Makes me want to try one.
I have a complete setup, including the "correct" Q-jet. I was going to use it on a slant, but will never get around to it. Message me if you are interested. That is exactly the setup I got my idea from, wanted to find a complete one, but could not seem to find one, if one shows up, I will probably buy it.
It has a shorter intake tract that is more efficient than my home made contraption, and mine idles decent, so I bet it does pretty good.Does anyone know how well the Pontiac draw thru acts when idling? It seems that fuel would pool up on the floor of the adapter after the carburetor. would be sweet on my ramcharger at 10000 feet.
. I should install an electric heater under the carb pad for extreme cold. It has coolant running under the car for heat, but that only works when it has some coolant temp of course. It is -3 degrees F here right now, I am going to start my turbo slant truck to back a snowmobile trailer in the garage. I will take a video, probably going to need some ether and a lot of pumping. Hope it starts, the lowest temp my setup starts without a lot of trouble is around 25 degrees. So an intake stove heater and an ether start is a must in the winter.
