Drilling my Zbar??

-
I 'll bet that the system is smoother with rod end bearings, but the clutch pedal to z bar rod tells me that something is off. If that correction works, it is what it is.
Good luck!

I had a problem with my clutch release being too low for my liking. The problem I found with lower the attachment point for the rod off the pedal was the rod would come in contact with the firewall since it is now at a different angle. Instead, I moved the hole for the rod that goes to the fork. This worked much better. I've always hated the sloppy factory clutch linkage, so I made new rods with heim joints. This modification made an amazing difference. It's almost like I have a hydraulic clutch now. View attachment 1715764083

What size thread did you use? Also what pipe ? I assume you tapped the threads yourself ? I may try it . Thanks

It’s 1/2” tubing. I don’t recall the ID, but it was smaller than what I needed to tap it. I simply drilled it to the proper size and tapped it. The heims are 3/8-24. I got left hand threads for one side so I could adjust the length with taking the bar off. It worked great compared to just having the single adjustment at the clutch fork. I sourced the tubing from an online metal supplier and bought 2’ of tubing which was plenty. The heims are Amazon specials. All in I think I was less than $25 including buying a left hand tap.
