Hi All,
I have a 67 barracuda,360,727,7.25 rear and have found a reasonably priced 8.25. Looking at the dimensions of both the 727 and 7.25 and 8.25 rears it looks like my driveshaft will be too long. The 7.25 rear has a 10.09" from axle center to universal center as the 8.25 has a 11.69".Has anyone tried this swap without shortening the driveshaft? Also, the flange to flange difference is a couple of inches. Has anyone had the tires rub the leaf springs when doing this? Kinda close right now and don't wanna waste time and money buying this 8.25 if I need to shorten the drivshaft and worry about tires rubbing the springs..........
