Like a dummy I didn't keep the brake hardware separate when taking it all apart and now I don't know which adjuster wheel goes on which side. Does the one with right hand threads go on the right side? Is it that simple?

:dontknow:

Thanks,
Ken

If you are looking directly at it as it is installed, the wheel spins upward. The self adjuster pulls the teeth on the wheel up.

It seems to me it`s the opposite of what you said. I think the right hand threaded adjuster goes on the left side and vice-versa.

That makes sense now that I look at it more closely.

And I have the adjusters on correctly.

Thanks for the help.

My dad figured out how to put some Comet drum brakes together wrong once.
The brake job was his Christmas gift to his twin sister. I was all of 9 yrs. old.
The farther we went the weaker the brakes became.
If your operate the cable by hand you can see the adjuster function properly.
