The brake shoes wont retract far enough to let the case go back over the brake.

When the brake shoes are fully retracted the 1/2 round should be sitting on the upper center post.

The adjuster at the bottom can be fully screwed into itself.

If you still can't get the drum on over the shoes I suspect you have some wrong parts.

The self adjuster is all the way screwed in

The self adjuster is not keyed into the right place on the brake shoe.

It goes into the notch in the bottom of the shoe and not the area where the shoe material is bonded to .

Your star wheel is not properly engaged in the shoe. You can plainly see the self adjust lever is not touching the star wheel.

However the bottom spring is on 180 out. It may interfere with the self adjusting arm hitting the spring coils.

thankfully it goes on I was wondering why that self adjuster didn't go on very well

are you referring to the black spring on the bottom, and if so is that one supposed to be even across the brake.

Adjuster is on the “shoe” not on the plate. if you remove adjuster and turn notch 90 degrees it will sit where it is supposed to. Tough to see, but its in the right place.

@Sirsmiley9

If you don't have one, download your factory service manual from mymopar.com, the images are worth a million bucks

By the way it's free

This why I always suggest doing one side at a time. So you always have a reference on the other side of the car.

Ya, I always do that, but I had a couple of parts from both sides I needed to blast and re-use and thought it wouldnt be a problem
