Those of you that have added Dynamat, Raammat, etc to your cars, do you still use the factory insulation on the inside of the firewall?
Also, did you run the Dynamat between the heater box and the firewall, or go around it?

Thanks,
Ken

I chose to use the factory insulation on the firewall for a couple of reasons:

a) I had it.
b) The push pins used to hold it to the firewall plug the holes.
c) I didn't want to see silver foil when I look under the dash.
d) I wasn't worried about eliminating as much noise or heat as possible.

I ran the RAAMmat up the toe board to just below the heater box. Carpet hides it. Factory isulation takes over from there.

I dynamated the whole inner firewall. Didn't use the factory insulation. Cant say how well it works as the car is not yet on the road.

I used Raamat, foam insulation and then factory insulation between the heater box and firewall. My objective is to eliminate as much heat and noise as possible. In the picture you will see the three layers of material.Still putting the car together so at this time can"t comment how effective this is going to be.
