Early 904 tailshaft

Will the tailshaft off a newer slip yoke 904 fit and work on a constant velocity shaft style 904? I have a newer 904 but want to keep my pushbutton 904.

I dont think so, I believe you have to change the output shaft too. Imperial Services makes a push button adapter for a modern 904.

Are you asking if a push button shift 904 can be fitted with a later slip yoke type output shaft and extension housing? Probably not, but what would you do about the Park position if it did? I think the main problem trying to do that swap is the rear of the main case. The cable shift transmissions have a rear pump and the slip yoke versions don't. Without machining and re-engineering, they won't just bolt in.
