Is anyone using the Edelbrock 1413 800 cfm carb on a 340? Looking for some feedback, good or bad.

I have done some research and have heard more than once that it is an improvement over the original carter AVS. I have the original AVS 4612 on my 69 340, hiflo exhaust manifolds, Mopar performance cam .450 intake .455 ex lift, 268/272 duration.

It runs pretty well, but I am considering making a change. I know 800 CFM is mathmatically too big for a 340, but would like to know if anyone has had positive results with this.

Check this article out. Dyno results of one on a stock 340. Had a 1413 on my 340 for a while set one stage rich & the engine loved it.( electric choke eddys are set a little lean out of the box.)
Upgraded with the 1813 for a little more adjustability but would recommend a 1413 for sure.

That is one of the articles that I read. They do admit in the article that the original AVS in the initial run was not operating as well as it could.

The 340 in my 65 cuda is built a little stouter than yours but not much. Have had a street demon, 770cfm holley avenger, 1413 eddy & 1813 eddy on her. All good carbs but have gotten best 1/8 mile results & drivability with the eddy's. I'm biased though because they are easier to tune. Good luck & if you choose the 800 eddy you won't be disappointed.
