Has anyone run both of these intakes on a 340 and which one performed the best ? Which one is the better one for a stock block 340 with ported X heads, Hughes engine cam with 518 lift and 224 duration, stock exhaust manifolds with 2 1/2 in TTI pipes and a Edelbrock 650 AVS 2

Virtually the same intake except the AirGap lacks an exhaust cross over. No tangible difference in power.

Very true Screws. You would want to run the regular RPM if it sees more of the cold weather. The heads heat up the intake for better drivability when it gets cold out. Warm up times decrease as well. And that’s something to appreciate a lot in upstate NY.

If the car is more fair weathered, the Air Gap version is what you’re after. It runs a little cooler making a smidge more power and it will do it consistently.

Yes, RF, we chose the Performer for the same reason: expected better cold weather operation.
