elavation % loss in power

ok i got a ? i live at 500 ft above sea level and moved to school thats 2000 ft above level i ran on a dyno at 2000 i had 278 hp 313 ftlb at the rear tire with out touchin the carb they told me i was to rich durr makes sence ok i was told if i ran were i tuned the car at 500 ft above it would be 300hp and about 340 ftlb

Generally 2% for every 1000' is the golden rule but density altitude is the real measure. Up here in Denver the density altitude at Bandimere (6000') can range from 5000' to well over 9000' depending on weather conditions.
