Enclosed trailer/toy hauler advice

-
Can't believe how the price has jumped in the last 18 months!!
No crap, I bought a new dump trailer a few months ago. The price was a couple grand higher than I expected.
Ended up with a 10' trailer for what a 16' would have cost me 2 years ago.
And open car trailers have doubled in price. I am so glad I bought mine before the price increase.

I have a 20 ft Haulmark that's 20 years old, the paint is shot but the rest of the trailer is in good condition I wish I could find somebody to paint it for a reasonable price. I have a 20ft because that's all I can fit in my driveway and its been fine as I haul my Dart and my D150 in it ( not at the same time! ) I have towed all over the place with no problems except a rear hinge froze and an electric short a few years ago. I have overhead cabinets in the front which really help for storing things , it is a little tight inside with the car , scooter, generator, jack and gas jug etc. but there is still room to move around. A few weeks ago I inquired about a new Hallmark and was told by the dealer they can't guarantee a price and its a year wait.

I would be more concerned about stopping power versus pulling power of a 1/2 ton.

On a long weekend race, do you sleep in the trailer or take a hotel.
20 ft is pretty tight.

Hotel , I have always felt that I can stay in a lot of hotels for what a motor home or living quarters trailer cost I only travel overnight about 3-4 times a year

Agree. Had a 34 foot motor home number of years back.
You can buy a ton of nice hotel rooms for what you pay for a motor home, then gas and upkeep.
It and the ex wife went by-by

I would probably quit racing if I had to sell my motorhome. At least I would give up long weekends as I love to climb in for my afternoon nap and stay up late and sip a few adult beverages with friends. If after a four day race I get tired or the winds are crazy I’ll pull over for an hour. I’ve had three different ones and this one fits me the best. 25 foot class A with 4000 watt onan generator, roof air, full bed in back, powered by a 454 Chevy. I found it 7 years ago for 5000.00 with 34000 miles. It’s a 2001.

24' and the Bird is parked 10" from the rear door. Bring a good woman with you to keep you warm....

What a bargain!

Ya I still had my 27 foot class C Coachman when this came available. It had a 460 Ford engine and could tow my 24 foot enclosed trailer but it struggled. This new one tows my 26 foot trailer great so it was a win win.

I have a 20ft enclosed that ive used for the past 5 years. At the time I was afraid my 1/2 ton truck wouldn't handle much more then that. Should have went with a 24 or 26. That what I'm looking at now. The 20ft does the job for my a body. If I had a bigger car it would be tough.

I have a 28' enclosed. It's large enough for my E, B and C Bodies and still can fit the golf cart, steel work bench, cabinets, tool box and equipment as well.

I went with epoxy paint, holds up ok. 4 years and no issues. You have the tire spots where the car sits. I threw a little used sand blast media in the paint for the ramp. Not as slippery when it rains.

Same with my ramp door as well.
