My paint code on my 65 Valiant is XX1 Y, which I decoded as Light Tan with a Gold Accent. But the previous owner went over everything on the car with some kind of gray brush primer. It may have even been house paint primer. He did the jambs, trunk, and rattle canned the engine bay with black. I'm not wanting to put as much money into this detailing as my Charger but I want it to at least be close to the original color. This engine bay looks a lot easier to paint even with the engine still installed. Is this Light Tan color a pretty basic color? I'll be happy with a rattle can touch up if I can find a Light Tan automotive touch up spray. It's better than black. Does anyone have a photo of an early A-body painted the factory Light Tan XX1? Also where would the Gold accent be? I see Gold on the metal portion of the interior doors, but I can't tell on the outside.
