I ran across someone selling a lightbulb for the engine compartment. Can anyone verify if a 65 Barracuda had a engine compartment light?

I’ve stripped over 12 of these early abodies and never an under hood light.

There are a lot of people who resell parts and make them seem like they are must have items for your car. You need to know your car and not waste the money.

I have been through 3 of them no light. Look in the front of the IPB see if was a dealer option? Some weird things in there. I actually have a NOS rear defroster setup for a 1964, dealer option.

Syleng1, according to halifax it was a dealer option

I have to remember not to leave my trunk open while I'm working on the car in my shop, or it will drain the battery. I imagine an under hood light would be 100x worse for draining the battery while the car sits inside being worked on!

Or when they sit all day at a car show with the hood open... seen that more than once.

Years ago I stuck an 80's pickup hood light in a Dart. Had a mercury switch or similar built into it so it shutoff automatically.

Over the years I've seen one 1965 Dart GT with underhood light. Talked with the selling dealership Monticello Garage in Longview, WA. It was a dealer installed item which came in the trunk with other parts.
