engine dyno prices???

Looks like 550 for a friday day, which is fine. Then I need to figure out how to get it there etc.
 
I've been looking for a dyno tuner for my Triumph Roadster motorcycle. If any of these do motorcycles or you know someone in my area (South Carolina) I would appreciate it.
 
I almost got on the engine dyno but a HURRICANE got in the way.Hope this week is my week.With the cost of fuel,tolls and dyno day I expect to drop a $1000.$100 per hour is not unreasonable,it should be inline with the shops hourly labor rate.PLUS,when you get into higher HP levels the tune is less forgiving.I wouldn't take my junk to an operator not familiar with my type of engine combo.I will post up some numbers afterwards:happy1:

Now that would have been worth the price of the admission. Getting enough "hook" to launch airborn off a set of spinning rollers and only 15 feet of slippery diamondplate without just spinning the tires and lumbering off the deep end.... priceless...

Sure, but the dyno can get you real close right out of the gate. There's always things to try, especially when it comes to suspension.
The dyno can also help spot a potential catastrophe! I've seen some crazy things when it should have been "normal" break in and tune.
Plus if you have a flat tappet cam, the dyno is sooooo much better at getting it broke in correctly.
When you break a cam in while in the car, alot of things can go wrong causing you to stop the break in process like wiring issues, leaks, or cooling issues. If this happens, it can be devastating to the break in process causing the cam to go flat and ruining the engine costing hundreds of dollars or even a couple thousand to fix. So much better to pay the 500-600 to get it right.

Oh I totally agree about running the break in prior to installation. But I'll just bolt mine to something heavy so it dont fly off and break it in,lol. Seriously,I break em in on a stand or engine cradle.

My eyes and ears have always been my most valuable trouble shooting tools.

WOW.....that is one hell of an engine!!!
 
We charge $350-500 depending on what the setup is. EFI or Any NoS/Blower setup time is a little more. But its till the job is done. Sometimes you can be on the dyno for 3 days of work to get something special dialed in just right. And we dont limit the pulls, you want to do 30 in a day, go for it!
