Was there a ground strap on the engine to the firewall from the factory on a 69 Dart 340? I know we run them from the rear of the head for good practice but was there one from the factory and does anyone have a picture? Just trying to get it back to mostly original looking.

On my dart 67 ,273 it comes off of the intake near the dist. Rather than the head.

BUT....

The engine was out once so not sure if it got back in the correct location.

Bolts to the back of the head and goes to the heater motor. It was a braided coated uninsulated flat ground strap. The picture below is from another model mopar and is longer then an a-body. I used it because I was putting a 318 in and 318 heads use 3/8 16 bolts on the head . 340's used a 5/16 18. Since I am installing a 318 in a 340 car I used that strap rather then drilling a 340 strap and ruining it. The ground strap can be seen hanging in the picture.

Yes and they were on the engine when it was painted before being bolted to the firewall. You can see on this 68 GTS where it bolts to the firewall just to the left and below the heater hose connections on the heater core...

Pretty sure it bolts to the firewall, and then to the back of the head on yours

The battery (engine block) to body ground is an area that can stand some improvement. Look at the pass side front of the head. Those bolt holes are on the rear of the driver's side head. Get a Ford style starter cable (eyelet to eyelet) bolt to the rear of the driver side head with a short bolt, and then bolt to the firewall, either a through hole with star locks or on a master cyl. mounting stud.
